    Clement Chen, Ph.D. and CPA, is a Professor of Accounting and the David M. French Professor. Clement is the Accounting, Finance, & International Business department chair at the University of Michigan-Flint. He joined the faculty of the School of Management in 2001. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Kentucky, MBA in Accounting and Finance from Michigan State University and BBA in Accounting from the University of Michigan. He teaches undergraduate, MBA and MSA courses in financial accounting, managerial accounting and cost accounting. His research areas of interest include budgeting, management control systems, forensic accounting, issues in accounting education, and effectiveness of blended learning and online learning.

    He has published in journals such as the Accounting Horizons, Advances in Management Accounting, Issues in Accounting Education, Management Accounting Quarterly, Accounting and the Public Interest, Strategic Finance, Critical Perspectives on Accounting, Managerial Auditing Journal, Advances in Accounting Education, Accounting Forum, Accounting Education: An International Journal, and CPA Journal. He is the recipient of 2008 University of Michigan-Flint Faculty Scholarly and Creative Achievement Award. He received Lybrand Gold Medal and Certificate of Merit for published manuscripts from the Institute of Management Accountants. He serves on a number of school and campus-wide committees such as the Executive Committee, Code and Nominating Committee, Faculty Advisor to the Beta Alpha Psi, and Chancellor Advisory for Budget and Strategic Planning.
